Augmented Reality
Traditionally, UC Riverside’s admit packet was sent to admitted students via mail. in 2021 we started sending the admit packet out by email and supplemented it with a website, iam.ucr.edu. On this website, we included Instagram effects that admitted students can use to share the excitement of their accomplishments. This Instagram filter that I created, with Spark AR Studio, is of UCR’s mascot Scotty the Bear. 3D modeling was also used to help create this effect. The user can choose to tap the screen to reveal their face.

This group of Giphys were created to help student express their enthusiasm to return to campus after an 18 month learn from home order due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
